WATER
CONSERV II has eliminated discharge of wastewater effluent to
surface waters.
The
RIB sites have provided a preserve for endangered and threatened
species of plants and animals, as officially cited by City and
County decree. As a result, the gopher tortoise, sandhill crane,
eastern indigo snake, Florida mouse, Florida scrub plum (Primus
Geniculata), sand spike moss, morning glory (Bonamia Grandiflora),
and lacey-leafed sand square are doing well in their protected
habitat.
WATER
CONSERV II replenishes the Floridan aquifer through the discharge
of reclaimed water to the RIBs. It also reduces the demand on
the aquifer by eliminating the need for well water for irrigation.
